NEVER FELT SO GROUNDED

I didn't mean to stay out of touch.
it's just that the last few months have been very busy. writing, traveling, recording.
Japan was amazing, lots of incredible food and great shows. Packed with people every night and great sound around us...Except: The first night I realized I forgot my elegant shoes, 5 minutes before I had to leave for the show, so I ended up singing BARE FOOT and I looooved it so much, that I sang the whole tour without shoes. Never felt so grounded while singing!

NY was coooooooold and rainy, so was my mood..uninspired and a bit gloomygray... So I bought myself a plane ticket and flew to Rio to visit Ipanema beach and my friend Daniel and to write some songs. I heard amazing people playing and met incredible artists.
Now I am in Italy, I just recorded a duet with PINO DANIELE one of Italy's most incredible singer-songwriters. It's gonna be part of his forthcoming release called "Ricomincio da 30" a double cd celebrating 30 years of his career.
The song is gorgeous and our voices blend like coffe and milk, like vanilla and hazelnut ice cream, like tomato and mozzarella, like sea and sky

I miss you all and please write when you can
love

me

Hi Chiara.
Everybody is saying that Pino Daniele's new album won't be so sh*t like the last 15 years. Here in Naples we're all waiting for THE BEST PINO (the one from the seventies) that has gone away and I wish he'll come back better than ever.
And your voice is a perfect candidate to give to Pino a new sound, taste, freshness. But tell me: was it a croppy "giro di DO" song or something memorable?

Bye baby, hugs from Naples and PLEASE COME SOON IN ITALY! I converted many friends to your "Verb"... :D

My dear,
unfortunately my english is not so good, anyway I'll try to write something comprehensible, also if I'll risk to be comic, in effect in this moment I look like Alberto Sordi .. "maccarone, tu mi hai sfidato" :)
quindi continuo in italiano..

Grazia

Chiara,
My sister and I saw you on the 27th of May at "The Living Room" in NYC. Great performance, great venue. I must say that having grown up in a "Full" italian family in NY, complete with 9 brothers and sisters, two dogs and one piano, that arguments over piano time were normal. If only my parents had cable TV, there might not have been so many kids, but you know those italians. There was always drama near the piano. If it wasn't my oldest sister singing Puccini, it was another sister writing a song about perfect love or a stupid boyfriend. For me, it was a refuge, a place of comfort, like the arms of my italian mother. A place where I could find support and express what was, and has now become again, the essence of who I am--a participant and observer of the human condition best expressed in the form of music. Writing a good song, for me, is a process requiring a dose of honesty, compassion, preparation and an eyeball to eyeball meeting of the heart and mind. Perfection is not an accident--I think it happens when preparation and opportunity come together(meglio con una botiglia di vino rosso, pane e formaggio!) You are truly gifted. You make it seem effortless and it was a true pleasure watching it all unfold before us that evening. Thanks for inspiring me to once again court the musical void in my life after so many years. Thanks for making great music. I congratulate you, Pete,Yusuke,Matt and Tony--all solid players.

Hi,

I am an Irish journalism student currently involved in designing a travel magazine. (An online version of the magazine will be hosted on the website of Ireland's best selling broadsheet newspaper.)

I would love to use the "Sun In Hands" image for the magazine cover, and I see you have the image on your site ( at http:/ /chiaracivello.blogspot.com/2008/04/never-felt-so-grounded.html ).

I was wondering if you know where the image originally came from, or who owns the rights to the image, as I can't use it without permission.

I see in your link for the image ( http://01f3bea.netsolhost.com/uploaded_images/daniel2003sun-in-hands-722184.jpg ) that you refer to "Daniel 20003". Do you know the original photographer of the image, and perhaps have some way of contacting him/her?

I am also looking for an original high-quality version of the image (as opposed to the compressed version used for websites).

Any information you could give me regarding the origins of the image or where I might be able to get a high quality version of it would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Andrew.
